Personality: Despite the loyalty of a shepherd and the love this bubbly gal has to offer, she is actually a fighter. Bred for stopping criminal activity, she has proven herself useful when it comes down to attacking and winning, and although she's a girl, she knows how to whip a male's butt. Her tough exterior is rarely shown however. Instead her laughs break the ice of new members, and her tail sways evenly to her chit chatting habits. She's not one to judge, but this causes her to oversee possibly bad traits that others may have- and trust those who should not be trusted. In turn, she is easily fooled/ tricked into doing things. Orders given by anyone higher in rank than her are law, and she will do anything needed of her (unfortunately, this can lead to bad outcomes if the higher ranked dog takes advantage of her, and orders something awful).

Overall, she's a tomboy who loves to wrestle. Because she trained in the police force, the dogs (mainly shepherds) she hung around with were almost all male. Growing up, she got used to the brotherly companions instead of sisters.

Appearance: Your average female purebred German Shepherd Dog. Her coat being made entirely of various browns, Darby has no other colours accompanying her gorgeous coat. Her saddle back patch is a common shepherd trait, as well as her darker muzzle and ears. And overall, she's freakin' gorgeous. It isn't a rare sight for a smile to be planted across the dog's mouth around friends, however, it is common for a smile to be absent when conversing with someone of a higher rank. In fact, unless a subtle joke was made, Darby will keep her features lifeless- and most placed above her have never seen heard her laugh.

Her deep brown eyes are complicated and revealing, though one might find it hard to find what their looking for because secrets and thoughts are crowded on the inside. Someone who has known her for a while might know how to peg if she's lying or not, but otherwise it is unlikely another dog (or cat) can tell she's got a secret on her tongue.

History: Darby's life consisted of training, sleeping, and eating. Nothing more. Her master, Officer Sarah Marks, had trained and owned two other certified police dogs, and was training Darbs to be her third. The shepherd remembered Marks as a strict sort of leader, only interested in raising her to be the best. When she goofed off in front of the humans, she was punished- and sometimes, even when the people weren't around, the older veterans of the force instructed her to quiet down. Life was dull and boring.. and she loved every minute of it. As she grew older and older, her skill level improved.
Her and Sarah were as close as ever, despite Darby's overall dislike of humans. Whatever she spoke, Darby understood and did. It wasn't long though, before her owner fell ill by the disease. And a heartbreak soon came after. She hasn't seen her two housemates since (two male german shepherds) since the death of their master, but she immediately noticed other dogs forming in the city. It took her no time at all to gain all the courage she needed to confront the group, expecting them to be dull minded and be behind all of the resent deaths of the humans.
To her surprise, the group was guarded and organized. And she wanted in.

extra notes: actually trained with Diablo at the same k9 force building in town. He was always a bit more advanced than her, and still is ~
